I swallow every spark, glint and gleam,
Fear binding dense the stubborn shade;
To fight my choke-black iron might, not one
Whose will to match my steel is not mere dream,
Until arrives the One of wonders made,
Dearest and brightest blossom of the Sun.
His Love alone has conquered this raw heart;
In Light’s embrace, the mountain wings aloft –
Giddy from this height and melting soft,
Am I now not shining like a star?
Tenderness did obdurate sleep thwart;
Today a taste of hope’s clear sweetness-draught,
Tomorrow sailing aspiration’s raft,
And nevermore Compassion-Sea depart.
