Autumn Fulness
Autumn Fulness
It is pumpkin time –
leaves take on all the colours
of the crayon box,
arrayed for a ball, a last flame,
before dying down to winter.
It is plumping time –
all things take on a fulness,
moon-shaped.
Harvest blessings flow,
round faces shine.
Lord, where is Your Satisfaction,
as we feed You with the fruits
of this good year?
Are You wearing a round Smile
of Fulness?
Or are You still hungry
for more love?
I hear my Lord laughing –
His Hunger as infinite
as His Love.
