Smile of the Roses
Smile of the Roses
A temple in a garden of roses
Cattle grazing on the far mountain side
A river flowing nearby.
The air filled with the rippling of the waves on the shore
Smile of the roses in the gentle breeze.
Standing in front of the altar
A feeling of freedom all around
And a deep longing to worship:
The lofty ideal,
The beautiful dream,
The sublime truth.
“I must come back
to this sacred reality again and again
till it becomes a part of me –
When awake around me,
When asleep within me.â€
– Mallikarjun Rakala.
