A small muse

A small muse

An academic brain is a wonderful thing
It serves its owner just fine
The more it learns the less it knows
A truth it obscures by design

It uses long words and elegant phrases
which have nothing to do with fact
And assumes superior airs of intelligence
But really it is all an act.

It is when the servant doesn’t serve
But instead it tries to master
That you have a probable recipe
for a sure and certain disaster

It is really much simpler to let your heart lead
for your spiritual progress to flow
It has the map to eternity’s goal
And you’ll get there much faster you know
