Who Can Believe?

Who Can Believe?

Who can believe
That, of the billions in the deafening dark,
I am one chosen to perceive
The faint flicker of silence-light inside my heart?
And yet it is so.

Who can say why,
Of all the eras,
I am born in this most blessed age
When You are here among us
To feed that growing flame?
And yet it is so.

Who can say how
You will watch over me
And keep me safe inside Your Boat
Till that all-nourishing fountain of Light
Grows strong, and stronger
In surrender to its Source: Delight?
And yet it will be so.
I know.
