Nothing But You

Nothing But You

Then there was nothing,
nothing but you.
Gone was the unhorizoned breath of the sky.
Gone was the breast of the sacred earth.
Gone all mortality’s life dream dance.

There was nothing.
Nothing but you and I and our promise.
Our promise to dive into the unfathomable depths of love.
Our promise to fly beyond the reach of perfection.
Our promise to enter together,
the temple heart of God’s unknown and unknowable consciousness.

So within the nothing was you
and you were everything.
Everything worth having.
Everything worth loving.
Everything worth becoming.

– Utpal Marshall.
