It Is Night My Lord
It Is Night My Lord
It is night my Lord,
And I cannot see you with my human eyes.
But if I allow my mind
To become as still
As a placid lake beneath a starlit sky,
Your reflection emerges
Luminous, resplendent like the moon
Shining on the waveless surface of the water.
At that moment, a portal appears to my inner view,
A gateway through which my spirit flies,
Leaving behind this familiar shore,
Toward a sky of peace and joy unlimited
So long my Lord
Have I wandered in the night.
So long have You waited
For me to take flight
Inside the vastness of Your Heart,
Far beyond the passageway of my
Finally tranquil mind.
