I see myself
In the bathroom mirror,
My vanity sees me
When I was eighteen.
Gone in no time,
Gone like a dream.
In this chill light
My eyes now trace
Those marks of time
Upon my flesh
No exercise, or diet
Or lotions can erase.
I see the young
Strong men who come
To take my old light body
Away, to bury or burn.
