Guru and Dad
Guru and Dad
Why was I always mixing them up?
Repeatedly catching myself
Saying Guru when I meant Dad and Dad when I meant Guru.
Da-Guru and Gur-Dad becoming
common words in my vocabulary.
Always embarrassing.
Hoping not many noticed.
Then it all became clear.
Dipika’s birthday:
“Your father wants you to know
what he has only known since arriving in heaven.
27th September 2002
A heart attack. . .â€
Guru had saved him.
For 3 ½ years.
Since then there really was no difference anymore.
They were one, inseparable and both mine.
I still mix them up
But I no longer feel stupid or guilty.
